Stadco announces the opening of an Indian Engineering centre

Stadco (part of the Acertec Group), the UK's leading supplier of Automotive Body structures (BiW) and the only UK BiW supplier with full Product Design & Development capabilities, has announced the opening of a Product Development Technical centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The Technical Centre is located in the Guindy district of Chennai close to both the city centre and Chennai airport and has been set up as the first part of Stadco's Indian operations to be known as Stadco Automotive India Pvt.

The centre has been established to primarily support the Product Design and Development requirements of Indian OEM's and customers but will also support Stadco's UK engineering operation with low cost resource. A full range of automotive BiW and Trim Product Design expertise will be available through the office using latest CAD systems and technologies.

Paul Jaggers, Product Development Director of Stadco said: "We have been operating within the Indian Automotive market for sometime now and have a good working relationship with a number of Indian customers. We see the opening of a Technical Centre as a natural progression and part of Stadco's plans to further develop activities in India".

Stadco's Indian operation is led by Peter Spackman who has over 30 years experience of BiW development in the Automotive Industry along with several years experience of working in India and other overseas locations.

Stadco is one of Europe's leading suppliers of body-in-white panels and assemblies to vehicle manufacturers including Ford, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin, GM and Toyota. Stadco has five established manufacturing sites, four in the UK and one in Germany. It also operates in South America and has recently announced plans to start operations in Russia.
